We highly recommend enabling Do Not Disturb on your phone when using Roll. Incoming calls, notifications, sounds. and vibrations (yes, even on silent) can disrupt your recording. Make sure you and your guests turn on Do Not Disturb when using Roll to ensure you get an error-free recording every time.
There are two ways to enable Do Not Disturb (DND) for your calls:
Manual: Manually turn on Do Not Disturb(DND) with every call. You can have your Roll App remind you to turn on DND every time you start a Roll call.
Automatic: Create a custom Focus on your iPhone to have your phone automatically turn on DND whenever using the Roll app.
Roll App Reminder
Built into Roll is a reminder to Enable Do Not Disturb, which will pop up on your phone everytime you connect to a Roll call.
Access this setting from your Roll App Home Screen.
Click on the gear symbol in the upper right corner to enter Settings, and select Advanced Settings.
Under Advanced Settings, you'll see a toggle to Enable Do Not Disturb Reminder.
When Enable Do Not Disturb Reminder is toggled on, a reminder will pop up on your phone when you join or start a Roll call.
Remember to ask all participants on a call to enable Do Not Disturb too!
Create a Custom Focus
Automatically Turn on DND Every Time You Use Roll
You can create a custom Focus on your iPhone to have your phone automatically turn on DND whenever using the Roll app.
Navigate to your iPhone Settings app and select Focus.
Under Focus, tap the plus sign (+) on the upper right corner of the screen, then choose Custom.
Name your Focus "Roll" or whatever you'd like for your custom focus event.
Proceed to the next screens to Customize Your Focus.
Under Set A Schedule, select Add Schedule.
Select App to activate this Focus whenever opening an App. Search for and select the Roll App.
Congratulations! You've now created a Custom Focus to automatically turn on DND whenever you using the Roll App
